Five held for influencing voters by cash

Five persons of two political parties were today arrested on the charge of influencing voters by distributing cash in different areas of Bihar, police said.

MADHUBANI/MUZAFFARPUR: Five persons of two political parties were today arrested on the charge of influencing voters by distributing cash in different areas of Bihar, police said.

Four LJP activists were arrested while trying to influence some voters with cash at Benipatti in Madhubani district.

A case chrging the LJP nominee S K Singh for Benippatti assembly constituency was registered.

In another incident one Lalbabu Sharma, an aid of BJP nominee Veena Devi, was arrested and Rs 2.32 lakh seized from his campaign vehicle at Gausnagar village in Muzaffarpur district.

Veena Devi is contesting from Gayghat assembly constituency.
