Five die, over 100 taken ill after consuming spurious liquor

LUCKNOW: Five persons died today and over 100 others were taken ill after consuming spurious liquor in Malihabad area here, police said.
The incident took place in Kharta and other villages of the state capital, they said.
"So far, five persons have died and 100 admitted to different hospitals including Balrampur hospital and Trauma Centre. We have deployed 14 ambulances to carry patients to hospitals and ensuring that they get the best treatment," Chief Medical Officer (CMO), SNS Yadav told PTI.
Condition of over 10 admitted in hospitals is stated to be serious.
The deceased persons have not been identified, police said, adding, the matter is being investigated.
