PUNE: A 14-year-old girl succumbed to swine flu in Pune on Monday, according to Times Now. This is the first swine flu death in India.

The girl named Riya Shiekh died at a private hospital in the city, according to reports.

Health Secretary Naresh Dayal confirmed the death on Times Now.

The number of H1N1 infection in Maharashtra stands at 147.
