First suicide in Patel agitation for reservation

GANDHINAGAR: With the Patidar agitation steadily gaining momentum, first suicide has been reported from Vavdi village near Rajkot.

According to available details, one Umesh Patel aged about 30 years committed suicide in a bid to support the on going agitation to secure reservation for the community.

While police has so far been tight lipped about the suicide, PAAS leaders Varun Patel and Satish Patel has appealed to the Patidar youths to refrain from such drastic steps.
