FIRs lodged against BJP leader Bharat Singh over rowdiness

Following a dispute with Bharat Singh over flood relief in Panchrukiya, Congress leader Vinod Singh and Ravindra Nath Misra, a journalist lodged separate FIRs.

BALLIA(UP): Two separate FIRs were lodged against former Uttar Pradesh minister and BJP leader Bharat Singh today for allegedly beating a local Congress leader and a local scribe and giving death threats to them, police said.


Following a dispute with Bharat Singh over flood relief in Panchrukiya area yesterday, Congress leader Vinod Singh and Ravindra Nath Misra, a journalist working with a local Hindi daily, lodged separate FIRs against him in Haldi police station, station in-charge Kanhaiya Lal Yadav said.

Besides Bharat Singh, local BJP leader Anmol Singh has also been named in the FIR, he said.

The BJP leader has also lodged a cross FIR against the duo, Yadav said, adding that police is investigating the matter.
