Fire in commercial building in Delhi

NEW DELHIP: A fire broke out today in a commercial building near Connaught Place here this evening.

No casualties were reported in the incident which took place around 5 PM. Five fire tenders were rushed to the spot, a fire official said.

The fire broke out on a first floor office of the Mercantile House building on Kasturba Gahdhi Marg and it took around half an hour for firefighters to douse the flames.

The fire broke out in a vacant premise where renovation work was underway, the official said.

The fire is suspected to have been caused by a short-circuit.
