Fire destroys 11 shops in Manipur

IMPHAL: Eleven grocery shops were gutted by a fire at Iribung in Imphal East district of Manipur early today.

Four fire engines fought for two and a half hours to control the fire which broke out in the wee hours, Chandramani Singh, Director of state fire services said.

The fire was suspected to have caused by short circuit, he said adding that property lost was estimated at about RS 50 lakh.
