KOLKATA: Massive fire broke at age old Calcutta Medical College and Hospitals at around 8 am on Wednesday. The pharmacy department and store near the hospital blocks appear to be source of fire, though cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.

Around 250 patients admitted at the nearby wards were shifted out by the fire fighters, hospital staffs , police and locals.

Visuals of patients being carried in bed-sheets are being seen while the relatives of patients look hassled, running at the premises with saline bottles and other things. Around 10 fire engines rushed to the spot. No casualty has been reported so far.

This is the second such fire incident in last one week. The city witnessed a major fire last week when the hundred year old market in Kolkata’s central business district burnt for at least four days.
