It is under control, police sources said. It happened while the new CJI R M Lodha was addressing media persons in the building which is over fifty years old.

Fire breaks out in the Supreme Court Old Lawyers' chamber
NEW DELHI: A minor fire broke out in lawyers' chamber block in the Supreme Court premises this afternoon.

The fire, which broke out in the R K Jain lawyers' chamber block, had been brought under control and no casualty was reported in the incident, fire brigade officials said.

"The fire department got the call about the blaze at 12:50 PM following which eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot which soon brought the blaze under control," a fire official said.

"We are trying to ascertain the cause of the fire," the official said.
