Fire breaks out in cloth godown

KOLKATA: A fire broke out in a cloth godown in the commercial area of Burrabazar in the city this morning.

One shop in the godown caught fire at around 8.30 AM and it spread to three other floors of the building, firemen said.

A total of 24 fire tenders have been pressed into service and the fire has been partially controlled, they said.

Fire fighting activities have been hampered in the area due to narrow roads.

The cause of the fire was not yet known.
