The FIR was filed on Wednesday at Jhargram police station. "Recently, it was brought to my notice that a video is doing the rounds on social media wherein Shri Suvendu Adhikari can be seen making hateful and casteist remarks against me in front of a gathering of persons. I was also informed that the said video pertains to an incident which occurred in January 2022 at Netai.
After some enquiry I was able to get hold of the video in question. When I heard the comments made by Shri Suvendu Adhikari, I was not only shaken but also very hurt... I represent the tribal community in the assembly. So, such comments hurt the sentiments of the entire community. Suvendu Adhikari is himself a public representative. Such comments are not acceptable...," she said.
CM Mamata Banerjee has sought apology from Adhikari and asked why action should not be taken against Adhikari for making such comments. Earlier, Banerjee had apologised after Trinamool minister Akhil Giri made derogatory remarks on President Droupadi Murmu.
