Fifty per cent votes cast in Assam till 1:30 pm

GUWAHATI: Around 49.64 per cent votes were cast in the five Lok Sabha constituencies ofTezpur, Koliabor, Jorhat, Dibrugarh and Lakhimpur in Assam till 1.30 pm on Monday.

An official in state election office said it is really a healthy trend. "There are reports of long queues in several polling stations." At least 57.02 percent of population of the state is voters. Total electorate in the state stood at 1.87 Crore. In last lok Sabha polls the number of electorate stood 1.74 Crore.
