Ficci signs MoU with World Gold Council

Industry body Ficci today announced that it has signed an MoU with the World Gold Council for promoting gold jewellery sector in India.

MUMBAI: Industry body Ficci today announced that it has signed an MoU with the World Gold Council for promoting gold jewellery sector in India.

As per the MoU, both the organisations would take up issues and policy matters that hamper the growth of the gold and jewellery sector in India with the Government, a release issued here said.

They would track the industry on a regular basis to identify and share information on opportunities and challenges on a regular basis.

Both the organisations would mount on business missions to various countries to promote bilateral trade and technical collaboration for the sector.

Besides, they would also conduct research and organise industry conferences.

As their first initiative, the organisations sent a high-powered business delegation to Turkey in March this year.

FICCI and World Gold Council now plan to undertake a pilot research study to understand the gold consumption patterns in India.

The findings of this research could be released in a Gold Conclave to be jointly organised by them at the end of this year or early next year.
