NEW DELHI: The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) and FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) have decided to set up an industry task force directed at the safety of women following the recent incident of rape and ongoing protests in Delhi, FICCI said in a statement.

The FICCI-FLO task force is considering looking into developing a national safety policy for women to be adopted by the industry. Envisioning a safe environment for women by sensitising various agencies, conducting actionable research on concerns of women, establishing a conceptual and workable framework for delivery and safety of women are some of the other objectives of the new task force which is expected to lead to improving the existing decision making process and implementation.

FICCI stated it is also considering introducing a proposal by way of recommendations with time scales, which can be used to monitor progress towards attainment of these targets.
