Festival of India being organized in Ukraine between March and October

The festival will exhibit various forms of Indian culture ranging from classical and folk dance, music, rangoli exhibition, seminars on yoga etc.

KOLKATA: In a move to promote Indian culture globally an eight month long programme called ‘Festival of India’ is being organized in Ukraine between March and October, this year.

The festival will exhibit various forms of Indian culture ranging from classical and folk dance, music, rangoli exhibition, mango and film festivals, seminars on yoga and also a fashion week in different cities of Ukraine.

Some of the cities hosting these programmes include Kyiv, Odessa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Lviv, Ivano Frankivsk, Poltava and Ternopil.


A Think Tank seminar by Indian Council of World Affairs and screening of Movie ‘Gandhi’ would be held on 2nd October this year.

Kathak Dance Group by Vidha Lal Group, folk dance organized by West Zone Cultural Centre, a Yoga Seminar through Ministry of Ayush, a mango festival through Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), showcasing Indian films and documentaries through Ministry of Information and Broadcasting , an Ukrainian Fashion Week through Ministry of Textile are some of the programmes scheduled to take place in this festival.
