Fearing attacks, AIUDF's Sirajudin Ajmal tells party workers to buy insurance cover

GUWAHATI: Lok Sabha MP from Barpeta and leader of All India United Democratic Front ( AIUDF) Sirajudin Ajmal has asked his party workers to buy insurance cover for he fears that a section of Congress and BJP workers will resort to violence in the run up to the assembly polls.

Sirajudin, the younger brother AIUDF president Badrudin Ajmal, while addressing workers at Hojai in Nagaon district, told his partymen that payment of Rs 716 insurance will fetch them Rs 2 lakh in case of injuries and Rs 5 lakh in case of any death in any election-related violence. The rival parties criticised Sirajudin, saying he is trying to incite violence and polarise voters.
