THANE: The bed-ridden father of Sunil Bijlani and Mahesh Bijlani, arrested in connection with the murder case of Navi Mumbai builder Sunil Lahoria, has approached the Chief Justice of India seeking speedy trial in the case.

Chellaram Bijlani, 82, the father of Sunil and Mahesh, has in his application to the CJI stated that he is suffering from various ailments, including visual impairment and oral cancer, and lives with his 76-year-old wife, who is also ailing.

Stating that he was helpless due to old age and cancer, and as there was no male member in his family to take care of his medical needs, he wants a speedy trial in the case.
