'Fatafat safai kijiye': Delhi Assembly speaker suspends over a dozen of AAP MLAs including ex-CM Atishi
Twelve Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislators were suspended from the Delhi Assembly session on its second day during Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena's address. Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta ordered the suspension.

The protest, which disrupted the session, led to the immediate expulsion of the lawmakers. Speaker Gupta directed the marshals to remove the protesting MLAs from the room, saying, “...fatafat safai kijiye” (quickly clean up).
The expelled MLAs included prominent AAP leaders such as Atishi, Gopal Rai, Veer Singh Dhingan, Mukesh Ahlawat, Chaudhary Zubair Ahmed, Anil Jha, Vishesh Ravi, and Jarnail Singh.
Atishi, speaking at a press conference after her expulsion, accused the BJP of disrespecting the legacy of Dr. BR Ambedkar. She alleged that the BJP-led government had removed Ambedkar’s portrait from the Chief Minister’s office, both in the Delhi Secretariat and the assembly.
She remarked, “The BJP has shown its true colours by removing Babasaheb Ambedkar's portrait. Does it believe Modi can replace Babasaheb?”
The controversy over the removal of Ambedkar’s portrait has further intensified the ongoing political tensions in Delhi, with AAP leaders condemning the action and calling it an affront to the Dalit community.
