Srinagar: Former J&K chief minister Farooq Abdullah on Sunday termed the Manipur situation a 'tragedy' for every citizen of the country. The Lok Sabha MP urged the PM to speak on the matter in Parliament and let other MPs speak too.

"Manipur situation is a tragedy for all of us. It is doomsday for every Indian," said Abdullah, adding: "Our creator is one and the same. You could find him in both masjid and mandir... He (the PM) has commented on the issue and used very strong words but he should say it in Parliament. He should listen to us (Opposition leaders) also. We hope that we will be allowed to talk on this issue in Parliament. Our aim is not to criticise but express our feelings about the situation."
