Farmer suicide at rally: 5 AAP members to be questioned
NEW DELHI: Five Aam Aadmi Party members are to be questioned today by Delhi Police in connection with the death of farmer Gajendra Singh at a party rally at Jantar Mantar last year.

"Senior AAP leaders Sanjay Singh, Ashish Khaitan, Kumar Vishwas, Punjab MP Bhagwant Mann and a volunteer identified as Neeraj Kumar, were served notices under section 60 of CrPC in the past two days," a senior police officer said.

The five persons have been asked to join the investigation in the case at the R K Puram, Sector 8, office of Crime Branch at 12.30 PM today, he said.

The officer said the police have prepared a detailed questionnaire which they will be asked to respond to.

On April 22, Gajendra Singh, a farmer from Rajasthan, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in full public view in the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at an Aam Aadmi Party rally.

The police registered a case under Sections 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions) and 306 (abetment of suicide) against several unnamed persons at the Parliament Street police station.
