Farmer commits suicide 8 hours after Maharashtra CM visits district to meet farmers & assauge concerns
Fadnavis’s tour to Marathwada to visit farmers and understand their grievances and express solidarity with the farmers has not helped in curbing farmer’s suicides.

Manish Patil a farmer from Patsangavi village in Osmanabad ended his life on Wednesday by hanging himself from a tree.
Meanwhile farmers created a ruckus in Parbhani today when Fadnavis went to address a gathering of farmers, a few of them created a ruckus asking why Fadnavis’s government was not willing to waive off the loans taken by the farmers.
Faced with a bleak monsoon and crop failure, farmers in Maharashtra especially from the drought hit Marathwada region are ending their lives. The spate of farmer’s suicides has put pressure on the BJP rule state government which had come to power vowing to end the farmer’s suicides in the state.
Incidentally Fadnavis’s visit to the drought hit Marathwada comes after a similar visit by NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, who has demanded that the loans taken by farmers be waived off. Fadnavis has claimed that the state is rolling out a number of initiatives to help the farmer that includes providing fodder for the livestock and digging wells and ponds to provide water for farmers.
