FARIDABAD: Faridabad railway station was put on alert after a call was received warning of terror attack in a train between Faridabad and Palwal.

A tip-off was received by the Delhi Control room warning of a terrorist attack in form of a blast in a train between here and Palwal, police said.

An alert was sounded and security personnel deployed to carry out checking of trains passing through Faridabad towards Palwal.

All trains were being halted for 10 minutes instead of the usual stoppage time of half minute to 2 minutes, said ASI Mahipal, posted at GRP post at Faridabad station.

Later commandos were also called from Delhi and were deputed for carry out searches on the station and some travelled till Asawati to carry out thorough checks, he said.

All stations on the route, including Faridabad, Faridabad New Town, Ballabgarh and Palwal, were alerted, he said, adding, until 8 pm no untoward incident was reported nor was any detention or arrest made.
