As Congress leaders and Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad are making moves to revive their alliance along with Ramvilas Paswan, the joke in Delhi’s political circles is how Janata Dal (United) of Nitish Kumar has been left out in the no-man’s land. Some JD(U) sympathisers have been continuously claiming in Delhi, much to the amusement of the informed Congress leaders, that Rahul Gandhi was about to gift Kumar the ‘special status poll plank’ before the two formally stitching a pre-poll alliance and that NK Singh, former babu-turned-JD(U) MP, was the ‘effective go-between’. Such fanciful claims!
