Fake currency unit unearthed in Delhi

Delhi Police today claimed to have unearthed a fake currency manufacturing unit in north-east Delhi with the arrest of three youths and recovery of fake currency with a face value of Rs 70,000.

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police today claimed to have unearthed a fake currency manufacturing unit in north-east Delhi with the arrest of three youths and recovery of fake currency with a face value of Rs 70,000.

Raees (27), Jaspal (26) and Mohd Ashraf (24) were arrested by the Special Cell for allegedly operating a fake currency manufacturing unit in Jhilmil colony and circulating counterfeit notes here, a senior police official said.

"The arrests came following investigations into inputs receieved by our personnel about the operations of the gang in the capital," the official said.

The Special Cell conducted a raid at the unit and seized computer, paper, ink and other materials used for printing fake currency, the official said.
