Fake currency racket with Nepal links busted

Fake currency notes with a face value of Rs 2 lakhs were recovered and two persons, allegedly operating from Nepal, arrested from the city on Saturday.

RAMPUR: Fake currency notes with a face value of Rs 2 lakhs were recovered and two persons, allegedly operating from Nepal, arrested from the city on Saturday.

Superintendent of Police Veer Bahadur Singh said currency notes in the denomination of Rs 500 were recovered from one Munna Kumar Gupta of Batia district of Bihar and Sahanawaz of Moradabad in the state. Their associate, however, escaped.

The gang was operating from Nepal with counterfeiting done there.
