The Congress responded to the BJP's claims that Rahul Gandhi and his co-padayatris were sleeping in luxurious mobile containers during the Bharat Jodo Yatra by releasing photographs of the containers to show they were built with only basic facilities. The party circulated pictures of three types of containers - one with a single-bed facility, second meant for sharing by two people and larger containers which can accommodate 12 people.

The Congress also gave media persons an opportunity to see the mobile containers.

The container in which Gandhi spends the night has one bed, a small working table and chair, a small fridge, attached toilet and an air conditioner but without a television set. Similar facilities most others too have and, in same cases, with fans, said party leaders.

The Congress has arranged 60 mobile containers in all, which are mounted on trucks and will be placed at open grounds, located for night halts en route the yatra with tight security arrangement. There are staff to clean and maintain the containers during the days when the yatris are out on the roads.
