Eye on polls, Maharashtra cabinet clears 37 plans

As many as 1,000 people from 19 districts in Vidarbha, Marathwada and south Maharashtra will be given 50% subsidy to buy country chicken.

MUMBAI: The Maharashtra government on Monday cleared a whopping 37 decisions in its cabinet meeting days before the code of conduct is to be imposed. Farmers in Marathwada and Vidarbha who had taken loans from licensed moneylenders and who were found ineligible for a farm loan waiver will now be eligible.

Leprosy-affected people who have also availed of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, can now apply for the chief minister’s housing scheme. The state government this move will help these people get an additional Rs 1.50 lakh to build their houses.

As many as 1,000 people from 19 districts in Vidarbha, Marathwada and south Maharashtra will be given 50% subsidy to buy country chicken.


The state has also given revised administrative approvals for six irrigation projects that were held post the alleged irrigation scam. Salaries of teachers, who have completed their PhD programmes to be doubled. Deans and full time teachers associated with medical, dental, ayurvedic governmental colleges will be paid as per the 7th pay commission.
