Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (ECGC) today extended a financial support of Rs 5 crore for relief and rehabilitation works in rain-ravaged Uttarakhand.

NEW DELHI: Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (ECGC) today extended a financial support of Rs 5 crore for relief and rehabilitation works in rain-ravaged Uttarakhand.

"N Shankar, CMD of ECGC, handed over a cheque of Rs 5 crore to Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma as a contribution towards the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund in the wake of the unprecedented floods in Uttarakhand," an official statement said.

The contribution is being made to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund out of the Corporate Social Responsibility funds, it said.

ECGC provides export credit insurance facilities to exporters and banks in India and functions under the administrative control of Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
