Ex-Ficci chief Chirayu Amin among 261 held in Gujarat liquor raid

Police seized liquor bottles worth Rs 1.70 lakh from the farmhouse of city-based industrialist Jitendra Shah, who owns the Shilchar group, with interests in power equipment manufacturing. The seizure included 103 bottles of whiskey and 116 bottles of beer.
Among those arrested were Chirayu Amin, a former chairman of industry association Ficci as well as the IPL. Amin, the chairman of Alembic Pharmaceuticals, was arrested along with his sons, Pranav and Udit, Zydex Industries CEO Ajay Ranka, Paresh Saraiya, managing director of Transpek Silox, Rakesh Agrawal of Shiva Pharma and Amit Goradia, chairman of Jewel Group.
Cops confiscated 80 luxury cars, in all valued at Rs 18 crore, including Bentleys and Mercedes, to ascertain if anybody escaped during the raid.
