Ex-AG Shrihari Aney sends letter in blood to PM demanding Vidarbha state
MUMBAI: On Maharashtra Diwas, former advocate general Shrihari Aney created a stir after his reported comment that they could resort to violence for creation of Vidarbha state. Aney had to resign last March after just six months in office after he advocated the need to create a separate state of Vidarbha.

The former AG, however, held a novel kind of protest by sending the signatures of 10,000 people signed with their blood to PM Narendra Modi seeking a separate state of Vidarbha. “The BJP had promised that it would create a separate state of Vidarbha so we are sending in letters singed with our blood to the PM as only he is capable of taking a decision.

BJP should fulfil its promise on Vidarbha,”said Aney. He, however, had a different take on his violence comment, saying , “we will never follow the Telangana way of achieving a separate state. Telangana lost 1,500 of its young people. However, if we are attacked while demanding a separate state then we will take recourse to violence.”
