Everyone is naked in this Sangam, Shashi Tharoor takes a dig at Yogi Adityanath's holy dip in Sangam

Taking a dig at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi's Adityanath's holy dip in Sangam at Prayagraj yesterday, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said that 'everyone is naked in this Sangam'.

Tharoor posted a pic of Yogi Adityanath and his entire Cabinet taking a dip in Sangam on Twitter saying: Ganga bhi swaach rakhne hai aur paap bhi yhn dhone hain. Iss Sangam me sabhi nange hain! Jai ganaga Maiya (Ganga needs to be cleaned and this is the place for washed off sins. Everyone is naked in this Sangam)



Interestingly, Tharoor's comment comes on the backdrop of speculations that newly-inducted Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi would kick off her political rallies in the state after taking a holy dip in Kumbh at Prayagraj.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and almost his entire Cabinet took a dip at the Sangam yesterday, at the venue of the Kumbh Mela. After taking the dip, Cabinet meeting also took place at Kumbh, in which Yogi government approved construction of world's longest 600-km Ganga Expressway between Prayagraj and western Uttar Pradesh.

The expressway will cost Rs 36,000 crore.

There are 25 cabinet ministers, including the chief minister, in the UP ministry which also has ministers of state.

The chief minister and members of his cabinet also offered prayers at a Hanuman temple here.

The proposed Ganga Expressway will start from Meerut and pass through Amroha, Bulandshahr, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Farrukhabad, Hardoi, Kannauj, Unnao, Rae Bareli and Pratapgarh before reaching Allahabad, the chief minister told reporters.
