LAKHIMPUR (UP): In the backdrop of BJP's plan to hoist the tricolour at Lal Chowk in Srinagar on Republic Day, a Union minister today said every Indian has the right to unfurl the national flag but no one has the right to create law and order problem.

"Unfurling national flag is a right of every Indian but no one has the right to create law and order problem," Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Jitin Prasada said here.

He was responding to a question on the BJP youth wing's Kolkata-to-Kashmir Rashtriya Ekta Yatra to unfurl the national flag in Srinagar on January 26 after a gap of 18 years.

On the change in his portfolio, Prasada said the charge had given him a "better scope to give new shape to road development programme in Uttar Pradesh."

Prasada accused the BSP government of ignoring roads in the state as said "As road transport and highways minister, I will accord top priority to Uttar Pradesh in road development programme".
