CHANDIGARH: Shiromani Akali Dal supremo and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal when asked on to comment on the merger of People Party of Punjab headed by Manpreet Singh Badal into Congress, the Chief Minister said that he failed to understand how a single person without anyone’s support could help the Congress party in improving its poll prospects in 2017. Hitting hard at Mr. Manpreet Singh Badal, the Chief Minister said that how a person could succeed in his life without any ideology, principle or stand.

On another query, the Chief Minister said that the SAD-BJP alliance was everlasting and both the parties should not be seen as different from each other. He said that the tried and tested alliance between both the parties was a unique phenomenon of the Indian democratic system, which has passed every litmus test in last few decades.
