Final voter list for the Lok Sabha elections is nearly ready. Data gathered until February first week point to a total of 96.8 crore electors, with 21.5 crore of them under 29 years, reports Anubhuti Vishnoi.


OLDEST VOTERS
- Highest number of senior citizen voters in Maharashtra — 26 lakh above 80 years and over 56,800 are over 100 years.
- 24.2 lakh of 80 years and over 32,800 centenarians in UP. 20,000 centenarians in both Bihar and Rajasthan.
VOTERS WITH DISABILITY
- In the context of voters with disabilities, Uttar Pradesh stands out with the highest number, exceeding 12.2 lakh individuals.
WOMEN POWER IN SOUTH & NORTHEAST
- In terms of gender dynamics, several states in South and Northeast India have witnessed a noteworthy trend.
- Kerala, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Goa, and Andhra Pradesh have reported an increase in the number of women voters compared to men.
- This shift indicates the rising influence and participation of women in the electoral process.
- A similar trend has been observed in states like Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Nagaland, emphasizing the evolving landscape of gender representation in Indian elections.
