Entry of Assamese from Bengal only on humanitarian grounds: Himanta Biswa Sarma
The total number of coronavirus cases in Assam rose to 58 with five persons testing positive for the disease on Friday and the test report of a 16-year-old girl confirmed the infection after her death, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

Sarma said, “Two persons who stayed in Cooch Behar and Midnapore in West Bengal tested positive for Covid-19. We have asked the police to give permission to the Assamese people coming from West Bengal only on humanitarian grounds.”
The minister said,“Like Odisha, Assam has appealed to the people staying outside not to come to the state if they want to save Assam. Around 1,032 people have entered Assam in last couple of days.”
