Ensure that you do not pick up the 'maladies of Congress': Assam CM to BJP workers
“When someone approaches for post of vice-chairman in a corporation while I come to party office, I can co-relate that this is the Congress way," Sarma said.

Sarma who was attending a party’s programme said, “When someone approaches for post of vice-chairman in a corporation while I come to party office, I can co-relate that this is the Congress way as while I use to visit Rajiv Bhawan people use to approach me and urge that I must tell Tarun Gogoi (former Assam chief minister) about my candidature for vice chairman of corporation.”
The BJP led government in Assam is finalising the list of people who will be appointed to the government-run boards and corporations. Sarma joined BJP in 2015 after leaving Congress.
He said, “Those who joined BJP from Congress must unlearn what they learn in Congress and those in BJP must ensure that they do not pick up the maladies of Congress.”
The chief minister said, “It is fine when one seeks a post or party ticket if the person has definite plans to work for a people. However, one should not seek the post just for rehabilitation purposes.”
