ISLAMABAD: Pakistani Foreign Ministry today called in Indian Deputy High Commissioner and gave him a note verbale over the protests in front of its Mission in New Delhi, asking to ensure security of its High Commission and the personnel there.

"The Deputy High Commissioner was asked to ensure security of the Pakistani diplomats, civilians, the High Commission and the Pakistan House," a Pakistani official said.

Scores of Youth Congress workers held a demonstration outside Pakistan High Commission protesting the killing of five Indian soldiers on the Line of Control.

During the protest, which started around 12:00 in the afternoon, demonstrators shouted anti-Pakistan slogans.

Police used water canons to disperse the demonstrators as they tried to break barricades and approach the Mission.

Cops detained around 75 protesters including 8 to 9 women during the protest. Later, they were released.
