HYDERABAD: The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), headed by eminent environmental scientist R K Pachauri, would set up a campus in Hyderabad.

Pachauri met the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy on Saturday and submitted a proposal in this regard and the latter has readily accepted it, the Chief Minister's Office said in a release tonight.

Reddy commended Pachauri's valuable contribution in the field of environment, it said.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), headed by Pachauri, received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 along with former US Vice-President Al Gore.

TERI was established in 1974 with the purpose of tackling and dealing with the acute problems that mankind is likely face in the years ahead-on account of the gradual depletion of the earth's finite energy resources.
