Encounter between CRPF and Naxals in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district

The firing began at 7.30am after jawans of CRPF 192 battalion rushed to the site after a tip-off about Naxal hideout in the forest.

GADCHIROLI: An encounter broke out between CRPF jawans and Maoists in Kaneri forest in Dhanora taluka of the district today.

The firing between the two sides began at around 7.30 AM and was still continuing, police said.

Acting on a tip-off that there was a Naxal hideout in the forest area, jawans of CRPF 192 battalion rushed to the site.

On seeing the forces, the ultras started firing at them and in retaliation police also opened fire.
