Emerging Kerala global connect event is not a mere exercise to lure investment to the state, said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: "Emerging Kerala" global connect event to he held in Kochi is not a mere exercise to lure investment to the state but a larger venture to obtain ideas, concepts and strategies to take Kerala forward, according to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.

"While attracting investments is one of the objectives of Emerging Kerala -2012, our overall vision for this summit is much wider," Chandy said in a statement today.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is scheduled to open the three-day event on September 12.

"We are bringing together some of the best thinkers, leaders and policy makers from around the world to one platform. It is going to provide us with an opportunity to obtain valuable ideas, concepts and strategies that can guide us in the future", he said.
