Embankment construction in Assam likely from April 21

Guwahati: The Assam government is likely to resume embankment construction work from April 21.

Water resources minister Keshab Mahanta has been holding meetings at several places with his department officials and prioritising the repair of embankment, which suffered damages during the flood last year.

Following the nationwide lockdown, the repair work was halted on March 24. "We will have to start work for embankment from April 21."
