Elections 2014: Treat everyone without discrimination: RSS tells BJP
NAGPUR: The RSS today termed BJP's victory in the Lok Sabha polls as "unprecedented" and asked the party-led government at the Centre to treat everyone in the country as equal and without any discrimination.

Talking to reporters at a press conference here, RSS general secretary Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi said, "This election was for parivartan (change) and a wave swept the entire country bringing an unprecedented victory for the BJP. He said the people have once again established the trends of healthy democracy in the country.

"The new government should treat the 125 crore people of the country as equal and without any discrimination on the basis of caste, creed or religion. Till elections, they are voters, but after that they are all citizens in the country," he said. Joshi further said that parties levelled allegations and counter-allegations against each other during poll campaigns, all that should be buried as the elections were over.

Dismissing the charge that the RSS was the remote control of BJP, Joshi said, "This is not true. The government should not be remote-controlled." On the issue of Ram temple in Ayodhya, the RSS office-bearer said it was a part of BJP's election manifesto and they should keep the promise. To a query about the roles of veteran BJP leaders L K Advani and Murali Manohar Joshi, he said, "It is for the BJP to decide and Sangh will not interfere."
