NEW DELHI: The 16th Lok Sabha polls which saw BJP getting a clear mandate with 282 seats also witnessed many central figures taking a mighty tumble as they were shown the exit door by the voters.

Among the top losers, there were several prominent names like Jaswant Singh, Farooq Abdullah, Meira Kumar and Arun Jaitley.

Former BJP Minister Jaswant Singh lost to Col Sona Ram of BJP with a margin of 87, 461 votes, Former Speaker of the Lok Sabha Meira Kumar lost from her constituency Sasaram to Chedi Paswan of BJP with a vote difference 63, 327 votes.

Congress leader Kapil Sibal lost to Harsh Vardhan of BJP with a vote margin of 2.6 lakh votes. BJP's leader Arun Jaitley lost the battle of Amritsar to Congress candidate Capt Amarinder Singh with a margin of 1.02 lakh votes.
