Tamil Nadu bypoll results 2026: Can Vijay's TVK hold its ground?

The results from Madurantakam and Dharapuram will be closely watched as a test of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), led by Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay. The bypolls followed the resignation of former AIADMK MLAs who subsequently joined TVK. The DMK and AIADMK are also contesting both seats, making the outcome important for the state's political parties. Madurantakam recorded a voter turnout of 86.26%, while Dharapuram registered 80.30%.

West Bengal bypoll results 2026: BJP faces first test after victory

Nandigram and Rejinagar are the two Assembly constituencies going to the polls in West Bengal. The results will be watched for indications of support for the BJP government led by Suvendu Adhikari.

Nandigram recorded a turnout of 80.89%, while Rejinagar registered 80.08%, according to reported Election Commission figures. Allegations of electoral irregularities and intimidation also surrounded polling in the state.

Assam bypoll results 2026: Who will win Nagaon?

The Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency is the only parliamentary seat among the six bypolls. The BJP, Congress and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) are the main parties in the contest.

The seat became vacant after former Congress MP Pradyut Bordoloi left the party and joined the BJP. The BJP has fielded Debashish Sharma, Congress has nominated Sibamoni Bora, and AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal is also in the race.

Nagaon recorded a voter turnout of 76.19%. The result will indicate how the three parties have performed in the constituency.

Puducherry bypoll results 2026: Thattanchavady in focus

The Thattanchavady Assembly bypoll is an important contest for the AINRC-led NDA government headed by Chief Minister N Rangasamy. The seat fell vacant after Rangasamy retained another constituency. AINRC, Congress and DMK are among the parties competing for the seat. Thattanchavady recorded a voter turnout of 80.81%, according to reported figures.
