Election Results 2014: PDP's Mehbooba Mufti wins from Anantnag Lok Sabha seat

SRINAGAR: Opposition PDP president Mehbooba Mufti defeated sitting MP and senior National Conference leader Mehboob Beg from Anantnag Parliamentary constituency by a margin of 65,417 votes.

Mehbooba, who never lost any election since joining politics in 1996, polled 2,00,429 votes, while Beg got 1,35,012 votes.

Mehbooba, daughter of PDP patron and former Union home minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, had won Anantnag Lok Sabha seat in 2004 but did not contest the election in 2009.
