Uttarakhand's Chief Electoral Officer Radha Raturi made the team aware about the ongoing preparation for holding the 2017 assembly polls in the state.

NEW DELHI: A three-member team of the Election Commission of India (ECI) headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Nasim Zaidi reached Dehradun and reviewed the preparation for holding the 2017 assembly elections in Uttarakhand on Wednesday. CEC Zaidi is accompanied by two Election Commissioners- Achal Kumar Jyoti and OP Rawat.

The team met representatives of different political parties and collected feedback from them. Uttarakhand's Chief Electoral Officer Radha Raturi made the team aware about the ongoing preparation for holding the 2017 assembly polls in the state. IG Deepam Seth communicated to the ECI’s team about the law and order situation in the state.

In the evening, the team met nodal officers of various departments such excise and transport. On Thursday, the team will hold a meeting with the district election officer and SPs in Dehradun.
