In US, Rahul Gandhi alleges Election Commission is 'compromised'
Rahul Gandhi, addressing the Indian Diaspora in Boston, alleged that the Election Commission of India is compromised, citing irregularities in the Maharashtra elections where a massive voter addition occurred within a short period. Election Commis...

The Congress leader, who is on a visit to the United States, alleged that the voter turnout data was manipulated during the Maharashtra assembly election, the results of which had taken the opposition by surprise.
"More people voted in the Maharashtra assembly elections than there are adults in Maharashtra. And the EC gave us a voting figure for 5.30 in the evening and between 5.30 and 7.30 in the evening, 65 lakh voters had voted. Now that is physically impossible to happen," Gandhi said. "If you see, it takes about three minutes for a voter to vote and come out. If you do the math, this would mean there were lines of voters till 2 am. So, we asked the Election Commission to give us videography. They not only refused us videography but also changed the law so now you are not allowed to ask for videography. It is very clear to us that the Election Commission is compromised. It is very clear that there is something very wrong with the system."
