Election Commission favouring BJP, says Azam Khan
Khan claimed that the poll panel let off BJP's UP in-charge Amit Shah lightly for his remarks, calling Azamgarh a "base of terrorists".

"The Election Commission is acting like the BJP's election office," he told reporters in Chandauli. Khan, who was banned from campaigning in the state, claimed that the poll panel let off BJP's UP in-charge and key aide of Narendra Modi, Amit Shah lightly for his remarks, calling Azamgarh a "base of terrorists".
"Calling Azamgarh a base of terrorists is against the law. But the Election Commission is openly acting like the BJP's election office. It let off Amit Shah lightly," Khan said.
Khan was banned from campaigning in UP last month for saying that the 1999 Kargil war was won by Muslim soldiers. He said he was targeted because of his religion. He said he had responded to the EC notice within prescribed limit, yet the ban wasn't lifted.
Khan said the poll panel should take a note that if someone campaigns as a prime minister even before results are announced, the election process becomes unconstitutional. "According to the Constitution, elected representatives choose the prime minister," he said.
