With the announcement of election results for Lok Sabha elections, the EC today announced cessation of Model Code of Conduct in the state.

CHANDIGARH: With the announcement and notification of election results for 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission of India today announced cessation of Model Code of Conduct in the state.

Raminder Singh, Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, said that the declaration of results in respect to all Parliamentary Constituencies has been completed and notified by the Election Commission of India.

He said that the 'Due Consultation' notification has been issued on May 18, 2014 and with this Model Code of Conduct has ceased to be in operation with immediate effect.
