A day after declaring that Rahul Gandhi can become prime minister even at midnight if he wants to, Union coal minister Sriprakash Jaiswal on Sunday tried to qualify his statement.

LUCKNOW: A day after declaring that Rahul Gandhi can become prime minister even at midnight if he wants to, Union coal minister Sriprakash Jaiswal on Sunday tried to qualify his statement.

He said that under the given circumstances Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was the best candidate for the job and Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were satisfied with Singh’s performance.

He said there was no question of change in leadership as of now. He said Rahul Gandhi was not enamoured by the post of prime ministership and was only concentrating on serving the people of the country and Uttar Pradesh.
